Excellence in Community Programming
The Governor General's History Award for Excellence in Community Programming aims to inspire small, volunteer-led community organizations in the creation of innovative programming that commemorates unique aspects of our heritage.
Two recipients (one from a francophone community and one from an anglophone community) will receive $2,500 each, and a trip for two to Ottawa to receive their award at the Governor General’s History Awards.
Update regarding COVID-19
Travel may be disrupted in 2023/2024 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While Canada’s History will make all efforts to award an appropriate prize to the final award recipients, equivalent prize substitutions or deferrals are not guaranteed. Thank you for your understanding.
